Thanks to The Independent's Hans Rollmann, I have been alerted to this crazy story of the St John's City Council's sterling efforts to prevent two entrepreneurs from setting up a Middle Eastern fast food stall in the George Street area. Though rather depressing, it really is well-worth a read:
